Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance.
- 4+ years of progressive accounting experience.
- Direct experience in the biotechnology, pharmaceutical, or life sciences industry.
- Strong understanding of U.S. GAAP.
- Proven experience with month-end close, account reconciliations, and supporting audits.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- CPA or CPA candidate status preferred.
- Public accounting or publicly traded company experience preferred.
- Experience with NetSuite or similar ERP systems preferred.
- Ability to travel up to 10%.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and record monthly journal entries, including operating expense and clinical trial accruals.
- Maintain account reconciliations and supporting schedules for balance sheet accounts.
- Partner with cross-functional teams to establish processes for supporting documentation and accrual data.
- Manage fixed assets, prepaid expenses, and lease accounting schedules.
- Review vendor invoices and resolve discrepancies in accordance with company policies.
- Assist in the preparation of financial reporting packages and variance analyses.
- Support external audits and execution of internal controls and SOX compliance.
