Requirements
- At least 3 years of accounting experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Business, or a related field.
- Strong understanding of accounting principles, financial reporting, reconciliations, and journal entry processes.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills (VLOOKUPs, pivot tables, and spreadsheet-based analysis).
- Strong critical-thinking, analytical, and problem-solving abilities with attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
- Experience supporting month-end close and financial reporting in a multi-entity environment (preferred).
- Experience in healthcare, insurance, managed care, or health plan accounting (preferred).
- Experience with Oracle, Workday, SAP, or similar ERP systems (preferred).
- Certified Public Accountant (CPA) certification (preferred).
Responsibilities
- Prepare and record journal entries in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and statutory accounting requirements.
- Prepare income statements, balance sheets, consolidated financial statements, and other accounting reports.
- Analyze monthly financial results and accounting records to identify trends, discrepancies, and potential errors.
- Maintain accurate transactions within financial systems and reconcile balance sheet accounts.
- Prepare quarterly and annual statutory financial statements accurately and within established deadlines.
- Support annual and other audit activities by preparing schedules, workpapers, and supporting documentation.
- Track direct costs, prepare related accruals, and validate supporting documentation.
- Collaborate with internal teams to gather information, resolve discrepancies, and improve financial reporting accuracy.
