Requirements
- 15+ years of experience developing complex software products.
- 8+ years of programming experience in Ruby on Rails.
- BS or MS in Computer Science or Engineering, or equivalent experience.
- Experience with public cloud environments such as AWS or Azure.
- Experience with relational databases (e.g., Postgres) and in-memory datastores (e.g., Redis).
- Experience building production systems with LLMs, including agents, evaluation, guardrails, and tools.
- Experience with AI coding tools such as Claude Code.
- Deep backend expertise with a track record of scaling production systems.
- Frontend fundamentals including Hotwire, Turbo, and Stimulus.
- Proven ability to build and maintain large, highly parallel systems with a focus on concurrency and throughput.
Responsibilities
- Represent the team's technical perspective in cross-functional discussions and drive alignment on key architectural decisions.
- Balance technical rigor with pragmatism to minimize technical debt while maintaining a bias for action and frequent customer feedback.
- Break down ambiguous requirements into actionable tasks and manage team delivery timelines.
- Mentor senior engineers, provide direct feedback, and foster an inclusive team culture.
- Drive code review, pair programming, and the development of better patterns and tooling.
- Design and ship agentic investigation capabilities to improve analyst efficiency and triage accuracy.
- Prototype solutions for high-uncertainty problems to de-risk and prove out new technical approaches.
- Define long-term technical strategy and oversee the evolution of data models, interfaces, and system architecture.
