Requirements

  • 3+ years managing software engineering teams with a track record of shipping production software.
  • Experience managing mixed FTE and contractor teams.
  • Strong technical background with substantial .NET / C# experience.
  • Comfort across Angular and SQL Server.
  • Experience leading modernization work evolving legacy systems incrementally.
  • Familiarity with evidence-based management approaches like DORA or SPACE frameworks.
  • Production experience in AWS environments, including Lambda and RDS.
  • Hands-on user of AI-assisted coding environments like Claude Code or Cursor.
  • Coaching-first leadership style with a focus on empowering team members.
  • Direct communication skills and ability to manage technical trade-offs.
  • Fluency in Agile, DevOps, and CI/CD practices.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and grow a team of engineers across a blended FTE/contractor model through coaching and performance management.
  • Own delivery outcomes for the School Nutrition platform by partnering with Product to shape execution.
  • Partner with senior leadership to execute the modernization roadmap toward .NET Core, cloud-native services, and PostgreSQL.
  • Manage the hiring loop, including sourcing, interview calibration, and closing talent.
  • Contribute as a technical leader in ADRs, design reviews, and code reviews.
  • Drive healthy engineering practices including testing, CI/CD, and DORA/flow metrics.
  • Enable the team to adopt AI-assisted development tooling like Claude Code responsibly.
  • Communicate status, roadmaps, risks, and trade-offs clearly in writing.
