Requirements
- 15+ years of professional software development experience.
- 5+ years of experience managing technical teams, including senior engineers.
- Track record of shipping polished, high-quality products.
- Technical fluency with AI-enabled products (LLMs, RAG, agents, on-device AI).
- Experience delivering applications across platforms such as desktop, web, or mobile.
- Proficiency with frameworks like Tauri, Electron, or React Native.
- Experience with enterprise software, security, privacy, and compliance readiness.
- Practical experience with local-first, self-hosted, or customer-controlled architectures.
- Experience improving engineering practices (CI/CD, code review, technical debt management).
- Strong communication skills regarding technical priorities and risk.
Responsibilities
- Lead engineering execution by clarifying priorities, ownership, timelines, risks, dependencies, and quality expectations.
- Manage engineers and contractors, including coaching, feedback, prioritization, performance support, and team development.
- Contribute to the codebase, conduct code reviews, and evaluate technical tradeoffs to maintain momentum and quality.
- Partner with leadership to align product direction, AI strategy, and technical priorities into coordinated engineering plans.
- Establish robust planning, review, and release practices to improve predictability and reduce bottlenecks.
- Maintain high standards for testing, documentation, security, and release readiness.
- Collaborate across product, design, and enterprise-facing teams to balance speed, privacy, and long-term sustainability.
- Lead hiring, onboarding, and resource planning as the team scales.
