Requirements
- 8+ years of platform engineering experience, including 2+ years leading or mentoring a team (platform, infrastructure, DevOps, or SRE).
- Extensive hands-on Kubernetes administration at scale, including ArgoCD, Helm, and cluster lifecycle management.
- Expert-level proficiency with Terraform and Infrastructure as Code frameworks.
- Experience managing CI/CD and GitOps workflows.
- Deep expertise with AWS (networking, compute, storage, security) and containerization in cloud-native environments.
- Working knowledge of observability practices, developer-platform (IDP) patterns, and security/IAM principles.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Must be available for on-call escalation coverage.
- Experience with AIOps practices and tooling preferred.
- Experience in healthcare SaaS or other regulated environments preferred.
- Experience designing internal developer platforms (IDP) preferred.
- AWS Solution Architect Professional and/or Kubernetes (CKA/CKAD) certifications preferred.
Responsibilities
- Lead, mentor, and grow a team of platform engineers, overseeing hiring, onboarding, and performance management.
- Contribute to architectural decisions, perform code reviews, and provide hands-on technical leadership on infrastructure challenges.
- Partner with Director and engineering/product stakeholders to shape the platform roadmap and set team-level objectives.
- Guide the deployment and evolution of AWS-based cloud solutions using modern IaC and automation practices.
- Collaborate with Platform Operations to enable AIOps features such as observability, automated remediation, and anomaly detection.
- Ensure system reliability, manage SLIs/SLOs, and drive engineering improvements through blameless post-mortems.
- Balance platform reliability, cost-efficiency, security, and developer experience.
