Requirements
- Master’s degree in Civil Engineering with a structural emphasis from an ABET-accredited program.
- At least 5 years of experience in project-based structural design and analysis.
- Proficiency with structural analysis software including SAP2000, STRUDL, SASSI, ANSYS, or LS-DYNA.
- Strong working knowledge of design codes: ASCE 4, ASCE 43, ASCE 7, AISC, and ACI.
- Experience in structural blast assessment using SBEDS per UFC 3-340-02 and Protective Design Center guidelines.
- Experience with explicit dynamic analysis in LS-DYNA for explosive loading.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills for cross-functional and client collaboration.
- Ability to manage technical priorities and maintain high standards for accuracy.
- Willingness to lead and implement automation, Python, MATLAB, or advanced Excel in engineering workflows.
- Ph.D., PE/SE licensure, or industrial/power plant experience preferred.
- Experience in Computer Science or AI integration is considered an advantage.
Responsibilities
- Lead structural engineering and analysis projects for new nuclear facilities, plant modifications, and safety-related structures.
- Prepare technical specifications, design documentation, and engineering calculations ensuring quality and compliance.
- Perform complex structural analyses under diverse loading conditions including seismic, impact, and explosive loads.
- Apply expertise in steel and reinforced concrete design to develop reliable engineering solutions.
- Utilize advanced analysis tools such as SAP2000, STRUDL, SASSI, ANSYS, and LS-DYNA.
- Serve as technical liaison for clients and provide subject matter expertise during design reviews and field visits.
- Lead the integration of automation, AI, and scripting into engineering workflows to enhance project efficiency.
- Review automated and AI-assisted outputs to maintain high technical standards.
