Job Details

Expert-level hands-on experience with Looker and LookML.
Deep understanding of Looker semantic model architecture, explores, views, and drill fields.
Proficiency in Looker row-level security, user attributes, and access filters.
Experience with Liquid templating, parameters, and conditional reporting logic.
Strong SQL skills including complex joins, window functions, and data validation.
Solid understanding of dimensional modeling, star schemas, and preventing join fan-out.
Experience managing BI performance, caching policies, and persistent derived tables.
Proven experience completing at least one enterprise BI migration to Looker.
Strong consulting skills with the ability to manage client stakeholders and communicate technical constraints.
Experience with Git-based development workflows and collaborative code management.
Ability to work independently in fast-moving, ambiguous environments.

Design and develop end-to-end Looker semantic models including explores, views, and dashboards.
Build scalable LookML architectures using reusable base explores and structured includes.
Implement row-level security using user attributes and access filters.
Migrate legacy reports from platforms like Tableau or SSRS into governed Looker models.
Collaborate with Data Engineering teams to profile data, map source-to-target columns, and resolve data issues.
Optimize BI performance through caching strategies, datagroups, and persistent derived tables.
Establish LookML development standards, manage code through Git, and conduct peer reviews.
Communicate technical trade-offs, project risks, and requirements to client stakeholders.
Mentor junior developers and contribute to team-wide engineering best practices.
