Requirements
- Strong, recent experience building and shipping production software as a hands-on engineer.
- Deep proficiency in TypeScript and JavaScript across the stack (Node.js, Express, React).
- Strong experience with relational data modeling, SQL (PostgreSQL), and REST API design.
- Experience modernizing legacy systems incrementally.
- Experience building and operating integrations and data sync between systems.
- Ability to make pragmatic architectural decisions balancing scalability, reliability, and speed.
- Experience serving as a senior technical engineer or lead without formal management authority.
- Hands-on fluency with AI development tools like Claude Code or GitHub Copilot.
- Strong ownership mindset regarding code quality and long-term system health.
- Excellent communication skills for technical and cross-functional partnerships.
Responsibilities
- Own the team's technical outcomes and ensure high standards for code quality, reliability, and security.
- Translate product and business requirements into pragmatic technical solutions.
- Mentor engineers across all levels and provide actionable technical feedback.
- Champion AI-driven engineering using tools like Claude Code to automate repetitive work and increase team leverage.
- Identify and address technical debt and architectural risks while maintaining delivery speed.
- Diagnose and resolve complex technical problems using observability and deep debugging.
- Oversee the development lifecycle, including automated testing and continuous feedback.
