Requirements
- Hands-on experience with UK and Ireland SAP Payroll, including schemas, Personnel Calculation Rules (PCRs), wage type creation, and basic pay configuration.
- Proven experience working with SAP Payroll systems in maintenance, troubleshooting, configuration, and application support environments.
- Strong understanding of UK and Ireland payroll processes, systems, and relevant legislation.
- Ability to prioritize and manage work across multiple clients while meeting deadlines and contractual SLA requirements.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with exceptional attention to detail.
- Excellent written, verbal, and presentation skills.
- Strong stakeholder management skills and the ability to build effective relationships.
- Ability to work independently while also contributing effectively within a collaborative team environment.
- Flexibility to adjust working hours when required to support critical payroll issues or escalations.
- Ability to support UK working hours and time-zone requirements.
Responsibilities
- Provide application support to payroll clients through functional advice, guidance, troubleshooting, and appropriate technical activities.
- Manage incidents, service requests, and change requests through ServiceNow, following ITIL principles and agreed service-level targets.
- Perform functional analysis and provide guidance on UK and Ireland payroll processing queries.
- Act as a senior member of the payroll support team, mentoring junior colleagues, facilitating daily stand-ups, and supporting planning and knowledge-transfer activities.
- Serve as a Single Point of Contact (SPOC) for assigned clients, developing in-depth knowledge of their system configuration and payroll processing cycles.
- Manage change requests from requirements gathering and estimation through unit testing, implementation, and deployment.
- Investigate and resolve complex SAP Payroll defects involving UK-specific requirements.
- Support End-of-Year and Start-of-Year payroll activities in collaboration with client payroll teams.
