Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED required (Associate or Bachelor’s degree preferred).
- 2+ years of experience in the healthcare field working in billing or collections.
- 1+ years of experience with Health Insurance/Government Insurance claim resolution.
- Prior experience with EMR/Billing systems.
- 2+ years of client-facing or customer service experience.
- Strong proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, and Outlook).
- Intermediate understanding of insurance payer/provider claims processing.
- Basic understanding of MVA legal requirements.
- Proven ability to meet or exceed productivity targets.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently as a self-starter.
- Commitment to maintaining PHI privacy and security.
Responsibilities
- Conduct online medical research of Motor Vehicle Accident and Health Insurance claims.
- Research, request, acquire, and review medical records, provider notes, and explanation of benefits.
- Contact payers for claim status, perform rebilling, and escalate issues to resolve outstanding balances.
- Resolve denied claims by submitting corrected claims and filing appeals.
- Communicate with clients, patient attorneys, and insurance companies to facilitate claim adjudication.
- Review and analyze health insurance remittance to ensure proper claim adjudication.
- Identify and alert leadership of denial trends to assist in denial prevention.
