Requirements

  • 8+ years of experience in a GIS, Geomatics, or similar senior-level role.
  • Undergraduate degree in a relevant discipline or a technical diploma combined with appropriate professional experience.
  • Strong experience implementing and managing Geomatics and GIS projects, including coordination with clients and multidisciplinary teams.
  • Excellent cartographic design skills and the ability to produce clear, accurate, and high-quality mapping products.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Experience with ESRI Enterprise Geodatabases and ESRI ArcGIS Enterprise, Portal, and/or ArcGIS Online.
  • Experience setting up and managing ESRI Field Maps and Survey123 data collection services is an asset.
  • Familiarity with FME or ESRI ModelBuilder is desirable.
  • Programming or scripting experience with technologies such as Python, Arcade, JavaScript, C#, or SQL is an advantage.
  • Experience with linear infrastructure and related geospatial applications is considered an asset.
  • Strong project ownership, organization, problem-solving, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Ability to provide technical leadership while working collaboratively across teams and disciplines.

Responsibilities

  • Lead large, complex GIS and Geomatics projects from initiation through completion, managing scope, timelines, budgets, stakeholders, and regulatory requirements.
  • Coordinate with business units, IT teams, clients, and external partners to establish priorities, resolve challenges, and support informed decisions.
  • Identify and contribute to new business opportunities by translating GIS and geospatial capabilities into compelling value propositions, proposals, and client-facing solutions.
  • Provide technical leadership to GIS professionals, reviewing deliverables, setting technical direction, coaching team members, and supporting their professional development.
  • Apply GIS expertise to interpret legislation, policies, standards, and regulatory requirements, ensuring geospatial data and outputs meet compliance and audit expectations.
  • Design and implement GIS tools, applications, and automated workflows that incorporate compliance requirements and improve operational efficiency.
  • Oversee the quality and accuracy of cartographic products and geospatial deliverables, ensuring they meet professional and client expectations.
  • Collaborate with project teams and clients to define Geomatics requirements and translate business needs into effective technical solutions.
