Requirements
- J.D. from an accredited law school and member in good standing of at least one U.S. state bar.
- 6-8+ years of relevant experience with depth in privacy and data protection law and program execution.
- CIPP/E and CIPP/US certifications.
- Deep expertise in European privacy and digital regulation (GDPR/UK GDPR) and familiarity with NIS2, DORA, the EU AI Act, and the EU Data Act.
- Demonstrated experience advising technology companies, ideally in cybersecurity, SaaS, or cloud, including AI/ML products.
- Meaningful experience contributing to and helping run a privacy program in a global environment.
- Experience providing product legal counseling.
- Strong drafting skills for complex privacy agreements (DPAs, SCCs, subprocessor terms).
- Fluency with AI tooling and ability to build and iterate on automation workflows.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills.
Responsibilities
- Drive the implementation and continuous improvement of the global privacy program across GDPR, UK GDPR, EU AI Act, NIS2, DORA, and US state privacy laws.
- Execute AI governance initiatives, including EU AI Act classification and related obligations in partnership with R&D and security.
- Partner with R&D to embed privacy into the design of AI-driven features and set privacy diligence standards for AI/LLM vendors.
- Oversee privacy operations including DSARs, Records of Processing Activities, impact assessments (DPIA/PIA/TIA/LIA), and audit support.
- Design, deploy, and iterate on AI-enabled privacy workflows to automate and scale program execution.
- Monitor legal and regulatory developments to inform market entry and launch decisions.
- Serve as the privacy escalation point for commercial and procurement teams regarding vendor and customer agreements.
- Advise on incident response, including breach assessment and mitigation.
