Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Mathematics, Engineering, Computer Science, or a related quantitative field.
- 5+ years of direct experience working in Southwest natural gas markets.
- Demonstrated experience performing quantitative analysis within energy markets.
- Strong expertise in Python and SQL for analytics, modeling, automation, and application development.
- Experience developing risk analytics, valuation models, or market reporting solutions.
- Understanding of quantitative finance concepts, including Value-at-Risk (VaR) and Mark-to-Market (MTM) valuation methodologies.
- Working knowledge of Business Intelligence tools and reporting platforms.
- Experience working with cloud-based technologies, particularly Google Cloud Platform.
- Deep knowledge of natural gas market fundamentals, transportation markets, pipeline tariffs, and trading dynamics.
- Ability to translate complex market and risk concepts into clear insights for stakeholders.
Responsibilities
- Lead technical analysis and quantification of market risks across physical and financial natural gas commodity and transportation positions.
- Develop and enhance risk models to provide actionable insights into portfolio exposures and market movements.
- Design, develop, and maintain advanced risk analytics tools using Python, SQL, and Google Cloud Platform.
- Lead the development and maintenance of Business Intelligence reporting for stakeholders.
- Monitor portfolio risk exposures and support adherence to established risk policies and controls.
- Maintain natural gas forward curves used for trading, valuation, and risk analysis.
