Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Finance, Economics, Accounting, or a related field, or equivalent relevant work experience.
- 12+ years of relevant experience within the retirement plan industry.
- Strong knowledge of ERISA guidelines, retirement plan regulations, and qualified plan requirements.
- Demonstrated experience with defined contribution plans, particularly 401(k) and 403(b) plans.
- Experience in retirement plan administration or compliance, ideally with a recordkeeper, third-party administrator, or similar organization.
- Strong understanding of plan design, fiduciary governance, regulatory compliance, and retirement plan consulting practices.
- Excellent written, verbal, and presentation skills.
- Strong organizational and project management skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and PowerPoint.
- Industry certifications or professional designations such as QPA, QKA, or CEBS are preferred.
Responsibilities
- Serve as a senior subject matter expert for retirement plan consulting, providing oversight, guidance, and strategic support across technical and regulatory matters.
- Provide ERISA expertise and technical guidance to financial advisors, clients, and internal stakeholders on qualified retirement plan matters.
- Advise clients on plan design, including cost and impact analysis, benchmarking, and peer-to-peer comparisons to support informed decision-making.
- Support prospective clients and advisors with retirement plan design analysis and consulting recommendations.
- Develop and deliver fiduciary training for plan committees, helping clients understand their responsibilities and governance obligations.
- Monitor regulatory developments and keep stakeholders informed of relevant requirements and industry changes.
- Build and maintain strong working relationships with plan auditors, ERISA counsel, actuarial providers, and other external partners.
