Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT, Engineering, Mathematics, or related field.
- 15+ years of relevant professional experience in database administration.
- Extensive experience administering MySQL 5.7/8.0 and/or PostgreSQL 12–16.
- Hands-on experience with Amazon RDS or Aurora.
- Deep understanding of Linux-based database environments and open-source database internals.
- Strong knowledge of Database Lifecycle Management (DLM) processes.
- Experience with data scrubbing, masking, comparison, and review.
- Experience strengthening database user and system authentication.
- Experience working with AWS and/or Azure cloud environments.
- Strong understanding of performance tuning, security, backup, replication, and capacity planning.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Suitability/Public Trust Background Clearance.
Responsibilities
- Administer MySQL and PostgreSQL database engines within the AWS Cloud.
- Install, configure, maintain, and optimize database instances, RDS parameters, and security patches.
- Manage database security, IAM authentication, and VPC security groups.
- Develop and maintain database objects and optimize database performance.
- Develop and validate database backup and recovery strategies.
- Provide technical support to application development teams and stakeholders.
- Execute Database Lifecycle Management processes.
- Assess impact of proposed database changes and conduct capacity planning.
