Requirements

  • 5-7 years of experience in solution architecture, sales engineering, consulting, or platform engineering.
  • Strong hands-on knowledge of cloud database services across AWS, Microsoft Azure, and Google Cloud.
  • Demonstrated ability to design backup, recovery, high availability, and disaster recovery for cloud database workloads.
  • Solid understanding of security architecture concepts including encryption, identity and access management, logging, and monitoring.
  • Knowledge of enterprise databases such as Amazon RDS, Aurora, Azure SQL, Cosmos DB, Cloud SQL, BigQuery, and Cloud Spanner.
  • Understanding of cyber resilience principles, including recovery from ransomware, accidental deletion, and credential misuse.
  • Familiarity with Commvault-supported database technologies and unified protection platforms.
  • Strong consultative and discovery skills to identify architectural risks and business continuity drivers.
  • Proven cross-functional collaboration skills in fast-moving enterprise environments.
  • Strong presentation, mentoring, and influence skills to operate as a trusted advisor.

Responsibilities

  • Advise customers, partners, and field teams on resilient architectures for databases across AWS, Azure, GCP, and OCI.
  • Translate business continuity, recovery time, and recovery point requirements into practical protection architectures and validation plans.
  • Lead deep technical discovery, design, and sizing discussions for complex opportunities.
  • Shape solution patterns incorporating layered security controls like encryption, identity integration, and isolated recovery.
  • Partner with account teams as a trusted technical advisor during discovery, workshops, and architectural reviews.
  • Explain platform capabilities, architectural trade-offs, and competitive differentiation for mission-critical workloads.
  • Enable sellers and partners through presentations, whiteboarding sessions, and design reviews.
  • Support recovery-readiness initiatives by defining drill scenarios and validation approaches.
  • Mentor field architects, solution engineers, and partner teams on reference architectures and technical objection handling.
  • Collaborate with product and engineering teams to communicate field requirements and platform gaps.
