Requirements
- 1–3 years of experience in patient referrals, prescription services, or reimbursement in infusion or specialty therapies.
- Experience delivering high-quality customer service to patients and healthcare providers.
- Familiarity with electronic health records (EHR) or pharmacy patient management systems.
- Proficiency in medical or pharmacy terminology.
- Moderate proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- High school diploma or equivalent (Bachelor’s degree preferred).
- Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Willingness to travel up to 5% as needed.
Responsibilities
- Monitor monthly insurance eligibility and authorization status for assigned active patients.
- Review CareTend queues and ensure all authorizations are current before service delivery.
- Identify coverage changes and coordinate with patients, sales, and physicians for updated documentation.
- Notify Reimbursement Specialists regarding new benefit verification or prior authorization needs.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for patients, providers, and field partners for authorization inquiries.
- Collaborate with clinical, reimbursement, and pharmacy teams to maintain case momentum.
- Document all communications accurately in systems of record.
- Track referral status and workload metrics to meet service goals.
