Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent education.
- At least 3 years of experience in a healthcare setting, call center, or customer service.
- Understanding of medical terminology, including diagnoses and CPT codes.
- Knowledge of managed care and insurance plan types (PPO, POS, HMO).
- Strong telephone, verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Working knowledge of Windows-based environments and basic Excel.
- Strong data-entry and keyboarding skills with high attention to detail.
- Ability to work in a high-volume environment while following privacy and compliance procedures.
- Ability to manage multiple applications simultaneously.
- Commitment to professional, customer-focused language.
- Must complete full-time onsite training in Katy, Texas before transitioning to remote work.
Responsibilities
- Manage high-volume incoming calls as a primary point of contact for patients.
- Schedule primary care, specialty, and emergency services according to established protocols.
- Complete patient registration and collect accurate demographic and insurance information.
- Verify insurance eligibility and benefits, including authorization and pre-certification.
- Communicate professionally with patients, physicians, and clinical staff to coordinate care.
- Triage calls to appropriate departments following approved scripts and workflows.
- Maintain accurate documentation in electronic medical record and scheduling systems.
- Process electronic referrals and coordinate urgent appointment requests.
