Job Details

Proven product design craft, capable of taking ambiguous enterprise input and translating it into buildable specs.
AI-native design judgment to evaluate necessity of UI and balance observability with automation.
Comfortable building interactive, near-functional prototypes using code or AI-assisted tools.
Experience with prompt engineering for building and testing conversational agents.
Strong technical understanding of AI capabilities, including accuracy, latency, and context limits.
Experience leveraging AI tools to prototype interactions and generate component variations.
Fluency in maintaining and extending a component-based design system.
Ability to conduct discovery research and usability tests to inform design decisions.
Focus on end-user needs, value delivery, and understanding key decision makers.

Own end-to-end design for features across Degreed's learning and skills platform, from problem framing and discovery through specs and QA through launch and impact.
Lead customer calls or seek customer feedback directly to build design and product sense.
Consistently push to improve quality, usability, and user experience.
Extend and maintain Degreed’s design system, evaluating when a new component is warranted versus when an existing one should be reused.
Audit existing surfaces, such as admin settings, profile, and core learning workflows, and rework them to reduce inconsistency.
Decide whether new workflows need visible UI or if AI can handle tasks invisibly while remaining observable and auditable.
Design conversational and agent-facing experiences alongside traditional UI.
Partner with product and tech leads to scope work and define requirements.
Present work in design reviews and act as an expert stakeholder for product areas.
