Requirements
- High school diploma or GED equivalent (college degree preferred).
- At least 3 years of professional experience in the healthcare, insurance, or employee benefits industry.
- At least 1 year of previous people-management experience.
- Advanced knowledge of regulatory requirements applicable to healthcare and benefits administration.
- Demonstrated experience independently drafting, editing, and proofreading plan language.
- Strong understanding of plan design terminology and document structures.
- Strong English grammar, composition, and proofreading skills.
- Advanced critical-thinking, analytical, and problem-solving abilities.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, particularly Word, Excel, and Outlook.
- Ability to travel periodically to regional field offices.
Responsibilities
- Lead, plan, and coordinate the work of Plan Document Coordinators, including assignments, production, quality, performance, and delivery.
- Set clear team goals and objectives, monitor progress, and provide ongoing direction.
- Serve as a subject matter expert in benefit interpretation and plan documentation to mitigate business and compliance risk.
- Partner with Compliance and stakeholders to ensure plan documents accurately reflect regulations and client needs.
- Collaborate with plan-building teams to align plan documents and system configurations for accurate benefit administration.
- Manage personnel responsibilities including mentoring, coaching, performance management, and career development.
- Provide hands-on operational support when workloads exceed team capacity.
- Establish and maintain accurate documentation, policies, and reference materials.
