Requirements
- Staff-level architectural ownership experience leading foundational platform initiatives with organizational impact.
- Strong systems thinking capabilities, including reasoning about invariants, failure modes, and trade-offs.
- Experience designing highly configurable, adaptable systems that serve multiple use cases.
- Deep expertise in distributed systems involving asynchronous processing, idempotency, state machines, and consistency.
- Experience with data-intensive systems, including persistence, performance, isolation, and migrations.
- Strong TypeScript and Node.js backend development experience beyond conventional CRUD applications.
- Proven cross-team technical leadership through RFCs, design reviews, and mentorship.
- Platform enablement mindset focused on clear contracts, abstractions, and developer experience.
- Ability to evolve and modularize existing systems over long time horizons.
Responsibilities
- Lead architectural direction across two Core Platform teams to ensure execution, infrastructure, data, and frontend systems evolve as a coherent whole.
- Design highly adaptable backend foundations supporting multiple workloads, deployment models, and future scale.
- Partner with the frontend platform workstream on core canvas architecture, real-time communication, performance, and plugin contracts.
- Evolve core subsystems including durable workflow execution, state, orchestration, queue distribution, and horizontal scaling.
- Shape data and persistence architecture, including database scaling, sharding, migrations, and operational maintainability.
- Lead technical decisions via clear proposals and RFCs to align stakeholders around durable solutions.
- Mentor engineers across all teams through design reviews, pairing, and technical guidance.
