Requirements
- MD, PhD, PharmD, or equivalent advanced scientific degree.
- 7–10 years of experience in medical communications, Medical Affairs, or the pharmaceutical industry.
- Proven success at Scientific Director level or equivalent senior position.
- Strong integrated scientific communications experience in medical communications and publication programs.
- Ability to develop scientific and account strategies that drive organic growth.
- Demonstrated success building and leveraging senior client and KOL relationships.
- Experience overseeing scientific deliverables for investigational and mature products.
- Experience serving as the scientific lead for client pitches, RFPs, and RFIs.
- Strong scientific judgment, editorial expertise, and ability to oversee other professionals.
- Mentoring and team-development capabilities.
- Understanding of AI applications in medical communications and emerging healthcare technologies.
- Willingness to travel periodically to support client meetings.
Responsibilities
- Partner with account leadership to develop and execute organic growth strategies.
- Develop scientific communications platforms, communication plans, and publication plans aligned with Medical Affairs objectives.
- Serve as the scientific lead for client pitches, RFPs, and business development opportunities.
- Build and maintain trusted relationships with senior clients and KOLs.
- Provide scientific leadership and quality oversight for publications, congress deliverables, and MSL field materials.
- Develop scientific deliverables including manuscripts, abstracts, posters, and symposium materials.
- Collaborate with technology teams to develop innovative digital solutions for Medical Affairs.
- Mentor scientific writers and junior directors through feedback and training.
- Identify and integrate practical AI applications to improve scientific strategy and content development.
