Requirements
- 8+ years of experience designing, developing and launching backend systems at scale.
- Proficiency with programming languages such as Python or Kotlin.
- Extensive track record of developing highly available distributed systems.
- Experience with technologies like AWS, MySQL, Spark and Kubernetes.
- Experience designing services with clear API boundaries, idempotency, and strong reliability.
- Experience in payments, commerce, ledger, or other financially-sensitive domains.
- Experience delivering major features or system components through defined technical plans.
- Demonstrated ability to thrive in ambiguity and understand system architecture.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent practical experience.
Responsibilities
- Set technical strategy for the team on a year-long time scale and lead business-impacting projects.
- Collaborate with product management, design, and analytics teams to ensure technical sustainability.
- Act as a force-multiplier by defining technical solutions and operational processes.
- Own team operations, monitoring, triage rotations, and on-call efforts to ensure platform availability.
- Foster a culture of quality by setting code review and design standards.
- Develop team talent through feedback, guidance, and leading by example.
