Requirements
- Staff level engineering experience.
- Direct experience owning an experimentation or feature flagging stack from end to end.
- Proven ability to build custom platform components (e.g., assignment, exposure, identity resolution).
- Fluent in statistical concepts to effectively partner with data scientists.
- Experience debugging complex measurement issues like traffic splitting, exposure attribution, and identity breakages.
- Demonstrated ability to drive technical direction through design documents and reviews.
- Experience mentoring senior engineers.
- Ability to work across the stack, including backend, frontend, CDN, and data warehouse.
- Experience making build-vs-buy decisions and reasoning about vendor risks.
- Ability to land migrations on teams by making the new path easier rather than by mandate.
Responsibilities
- Own the technical foundation and roadmap for the experimentation platform.
- Design and implement core primitives for experiment assignment, exposure tracking, and identity resolution across devices and sessions.
- Evaluate and consolidate the current experimentation and feature flagging stack (currently LaunchDarkly and Statsig).
- Integrate AI to automate experiment validation and diagnostics.
- Expand experimentation capabilities to support market-based testing in a multi-sided marketplace.
- Act as a technical product manager to gather requirements from various teams and sequence them into a roadmap.
- Raise the standard of experimentation across the company through defaults, documentation, and education.
- Collaborate with Data Science and engineering teams on event tracking, metric definitions, and data pipeline integrity.
