Requirements
- Minimum 5 years of professional software development experience.
- Experience serving as a technical lead or senior developer on an Agile team.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Systems, or related field.
- Deep, hands-on experience building production backend services and REST APIs in Python/Django.
- Strong experience with PostgreSQL data modeling, schema design, and query optimization.
- Working proficiency in Java.
- Hands-on experience with Solr and Elasticsearch.
- Experience building ETL or data integration pipelines.
- Hands-on experience developing and deploying applications in AWS.
- Working experience with Terraform for infrastructure-as-code.
- Experience maintaining continuous integration pipelines with Jenkins and Git.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust or Suitability Determination.
Responsibilities
- Serve as the technical lead of a scrum team on a three-week sprint cadence using Agile practices.
- Lead the design, development, and unit testing of Python and Django backend services.
- Design and build REST APIs and ETL pipelines for content management and metadata exchange.
- Manage relational data models in PostgreSQL and optimize schemas and queries.
- Maintain and extend existing Java components as required by the platform.
- Build and operate services in AWS environments using Terraform and Docker.
- Mentor mid-level developers through pairing, design review, and code review.
- Support security assessment and authorization (A&A) activities with technical documentation.
- Handle all project information as Controlled Unclassified Information (CUI) within client-managed systems.
