Requirements

  • 6+ years of professional software engineering experience building backend, infrastructure, or platform services in production.
  • Strong distributed-systems and API design capabilities.
  • Production experience with Golang or Python, or another modern programming language.
  • Deep hands-on experience with at least one public cloud provider, preferably AWS.
  • Experience with infrastructure-as-code tools such as Terraform.
  • Working knowledge of cloud security principles, including IAM, network segmentation, and encryption.
  • Hands-on experience designing and maintaining CI/CD pipelines (e.g., GitLab Pipelines, GitHub Actions, Jenkins, or Argo).
  • Demonstrated ability to identify manual work and replace it with reliable automation.
  • Experience building or contributing to internal developer platforms is highly desirable.
  • Experience treating internal platforms as products, including defining interfaces and measuring adoption.
  • Familiarity with service-to-service networking, service meshes, workload identity, and Linux systems is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and own backend services and APIs that provide self-service capabilities for cloud account provisioning, networking, IAM, and policy management.
  • Transform recurring manual infrastructure tasks and runbook-driven processes into secure, scalable APIs, automation, and platform products.
  • Treat internal engineering teams as platform customers by designing intuitive interfaces and using feedback to guide development.
  • Build reliable production services with strong observability, defined SLOs, and resilient architectures.
  • Participate in production on-call responsibilities and lead initiatives to eliminate recurring operational issues.
  • Apply AI-assisted development tools to accelerate design, implementation, and operations.
  • Contribute to platform architecture, technical strategy, and roadmap planning.
  • Collaborate with infrastructure, security, and delivery teams to create cohesive platform capabilities.
