Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree (B.A/B.S.) in a related field or equivalent education and applicable work experience.
- 8+ years of successful field sales experience.
- 5+ years of successful account management experience (or equivalent combination).
- Thorough understanding of the Trade industry and medical product distribution processes in large healthcare organizations or prescription drug vendors.
- Broad understanding of sales techniques and strategic objectives of the medical device marketplace.
- Demonstrated capability in driving corporate strategy through market and industry understanding.
- Ability to analyze a wide variety of sales and financial data to make business decisions.
- Strong understanding of the US access environment (distributors, pharmacies, reimbursement/co-pay support, payer coverage, pricing).
- Understanding of reimbursement methodologies for commercial and government payers under pharmacy benefits.
- Proven ability to work independently with strong self-motivation.
- Ability to prioritize activities and manage new initiatives.
- Ability to communicate ideas and data persuasively and appropriately in verbal and written forms.
- Willingness to travel by car and air up to 30% of the time.
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement Tandem’s dual channel strategy with trade accounts including distributors, wholesalers, specialty distributors, and mail order pharmacies.
- Serve as a liaison between Tandem and assigned accounts for feedback and communications.
- Manage forecasting, strategic planning, and operational problem resolution.
- Develop relationships with national trade account leadership to ensure market share retention and profitability.
- Establish and negotiate stable, long-term contractual relationships including pricing and service levels.
- Collaborate with US Commercial teams (Market Access, Marketing, Sales, Finance, Supply Chain) to execute strategies.
- Establish and review account metrics to drive execution.
- Provide input on training programs for distributors supporting Tandem product launches.
