Requirements
- 5–7 years of dwelling estimating experience preferred.
- Proven experience handling homeowner property losses of $50,000 or greater.
- Strong claims and business acumen with litigation experience.
- Advanced knowledge of homeowner policy interpretation and coverage analysis.
- Demonstrated Xactimate expertise.
- Ability to work effectively with vendors regarding damage determination and estimate reconciliation.
- Ability to operate in a fast-paced, customer-focused environment using claims systems and telephony platforms.
- Maintain and obtain required state adjuster licenses.
- Strong communication, negotiation, analytical, and decision-making skills.
Responsibilities
- Manage and investigate large loss and high-exposure homeowner claims, including litigation files and claims involving public adjusters and attorneys.
- Verify coverage, interpret policy language, and determine liability and scope of damages.
- Evaluate claim facts and damage estimates to move claims toward appropriate and timely resolution.
- Conduct on-site inspections as needed to evaluate damages and determine loss exposure.
- Investigate origin and cause of high-exposure claims, coordinating with insureds, claimants, agents, attorneys, contractors, experts, SIU, and public officials.
- Negotiate settlements with insureds, attorneys, and public adjusters in accordance with company best practices.
- Maintain transparent and timely communication with all stakeholders throughout the claim lifecycle.
