Requirements
- 5+ years of property adjusting experience, ideally with complex or large-loss claims.
- Experience in construction, restoration, or skilled trades.
- Knowledge of regional construction types, building methods, and repair methodologies.
- Proficiency with Xactimate or comparable estimating technology.
- Ability to work a 10-days-on, 4-days-off schedule (7 a.m. to 7 p.m.).
- Availability for 70% or more travel.
- Ability to obtain required adjuster/appraiser licenses within 60 days.
- Dedicated private workspace and reliable internet (min 50 Mbps download/5 Mbps upload).
- Strong critical-thinking, negotiation, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and empathy for customer interactions.
Responsibilities
- Investigate and manage complex and large-loss property claims, including fire, water, weather, and theft.
- Travel to loss locations (70%+ travel requirement) to conduct property inspections and prepare accurate repair estimates.
- Utilize virtual video technology to collaborate with vendors and complete estimates remotely.
- Review policies and analyze coverage to determine and explain claim outcomes to customers.
- Negotiate claim settlements and handle complex contents inventories, pricing, and mitigation bills.
- Perform reinspections of complex estimates and provide quality feedback.
- Document findings, evaluations, and settlement rationale thoroughly.
