Requirements

  • Advanced degree in life sciences, business, law, or a related discipline (PhD, MD, MBA, JD, or equivalent).
  • 12+ years of experience in biotechnology, pharmaceutical, business development, legal, investment banking, or consulting.
  • Significant experience negotiating and executing biopharmaceutical licensing and collaboration transactions.
  • Demonstrated expertise negotiating complex term sheets and definitive agreements.
  • Deep understanding of drug development, intellectual property, regulatory pathways, and biopharmaceutical commercialization.
  • Strong financial and valuation acumen.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Proven ability to influence senior executives and lead cross-functional teams.
  • Experience with oncology therapeutics and immuno-oncology programs preferred.
  • Experience with preclinical and clinical-stage assets preferred.
  • Prior experience negotiating with large pharmaceutical companies preferred.
  • Familiarity with global partnering structures and ex-U.S. regional licensing preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Lead or support the negotiation and execution of strategic partnering transactions for oncology therapeutics and technology platforms.
  • Serve as principal negotiator for non-binding term sheets, letters of intent, and complex license/collaboration agreements.
  • Develop transaction structures and economic frameworks that align with corporate objectives.
  • Identify and mitigate business, legal, regulatory, intellectual property, financial, and operational risks during negotiations.
  • Drive transactions from initial engagement through signing and closing by coordinating internal stakeholders across Research, Development, Commercial, Finance, Legal, and IP teams.
  • Advise senior management on optimal transaction structures including global/regional licensing, co-development, and asset divestitures.
  • Negotiate financial terms including upfront payments, milestones, royalties, profit-sharing, and equity investments.
