Requirements
- 5–10 years of experience in fire protection engineering design, consulting, or construction environments.
- Bachelor’s degree in Fire Protection Engineering, Engineering Technology, or a similar ABET-accredited engineering program.
- Active Professional Engineering (PE/FPE) license required.
- Strong knowledge of NFPA standards, Unified Facilities Criteria (UFC), and building codes such as IBC and SBC.
- Proven experience with fire protection design principles and engineering practices.
- Proficiency with Autodesk Revit and familiarity with BIM workflows for fire protection systems.
- Ability to provide technical direction and support to engineering teams.
- Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to manage competing priorities.
- Willingness to travel occasionally (less than 20%).
Responsibilities
- Manage fire protection engineering scopes for high-profile data center, mission-critical, federal, and industrial projects.
- Serve as the engineer of record for assigned projects and oversee technical deliverables.
- Apply fire protection design principles, codes, and standards to develop compliant engineering solutions.
- Coordinate closely with multidisciplinary design teams to ensure successful project execution.
- Perform engineering calculations, analysis, and technical evaluations using appropriate software tools.
- Support the development of 3D fire protection designs using Autodesk Revit and BIM workflows.
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers and design staff.
