Requirements

  • Master’s degree required in health economics, biostatistics, epidemiology, economics, or a related quantitative field; PhD strongly preferred.
  • 12+ years of experience as a health economist, actuary, or similar healthcare analytics expert with demonstrated success developing and defending ROI and value-based care methodologies.
  • 4+ years of experience leading and developing teams.
  • Extensive experience with healthcare research, including published white papers, peer-reviewed studies, or similar external research contributions.
  • Deep expertise in causal inference methods, including matched cohort designs, risk adjustment, and quasi-experimental approaches applied to healthcare outcomes.
  • Strong hands-on experience working with healthcare claims data, including medical and pharmacy (Rx) data, for cost and utilization analysis.
  • Proven ability to present ROI and clinical outcomes methodologies to payers, actuaries, and other technically sophisticated audiences.
  • Experience partnering with clinical or healthcare delivery teams to apply research findings in real-world settings.
  • Ability to work directly with analytical tools such as SQL, R, or Python to perform advanced analysis.
  • Experience using automation, AI-powered tools, data modeling, or dashboarding solutions to scale analytical work.
  • Familiarity with AI-native research and productivity tools.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the development and ownership of ROI and clinical outcomes methodologies, identifying high-impact member populations and quantifying value delivered to healthcare stakeholders.
  • Serve as the technical authority for outcomes research, presenting and defending methodologies with healthcare organizations, actuarial teams, research partners, and internal leadership.
  • Build scalable evidence frameworks that can be applied across new populations, programs, and healthcare partnerships.
  • Lead the clinical research agenda, producing high-quality evidence through white papers, publications, and external research initiatives.
  • Partner with clinical and care delivery teams to translate research findings into improved care strategies and operational practices.
  • Provide internal expertise on healthcare outcomes, research methodology, and value measurement to support organizational initiatives.
  • Lead and mentor a high-performing analytics team while remaining directly involved in complex research and methodology development.
  • Leverage AI tools, automation, and advanced analytics approaches to expand research capabilities and improve efficiency.
  • Develop repeatable systems and processes that strengthen evidence generation and long-term scalability.
