Requirements
- Master’s degree in health economics, biostatistics, epidemiology, economics, or related field (PhD strongly preferred).
- 12+ years of experience as a health economist or actuary.
- 4+ years of team leadership experience.
- Demonstrated track record of building and defending ROI and value-based care methodologies.
- Proven experience in clinical research, including published white papers or peer-reviewed work.
- Deep, hands-on expertise in causal inference methods applied to healthcare cost and outcomes (e.g., matched cohort design, risk adjustment).
- Extensive experience working with medical and pharmacy (Rx) healthcare claims data for cost and utilization analysis.
- Direct experience presenting methodologies to payers, actuaries, or technical external audiences.
- Hands-on proficiency with data analysis tools such as SQL, R, or Python.
- Experience using AI-native tooling to automate and accelerate research and data modeling.
- Strong ability to translate complex technical findings for technical and non-technical audiences.
Responsibilities
- Own and evolve Foodsmart’s ROI and clinical outcomes methodology to quantify value for members and payers.
- Represent clinical methodologies to external payers and actuarial firms, defending approaches under technical scrutiny.
- Design and implement scalable ROI and evidence methodologies that adapt to new populations and payer requirements.
- Lead the clinical research agenda, including producing white papers and publications to establish market credibility.
- Partner with clinical teams to translate research findings into actionable care delivery best practices.
- Manage and develop a small team while performing hands-on research and analysis using AI tools to accelerate outputs.
