Requirements
- 5+ years of experience in land management, land acquisition, agricultural leasing, business development, sales, or related fields.
- Proven ability to build relationships, conduct outreach, and manage advanced negotiations.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to explain complex concepts.
- Entrepreneurial mindset with the ability to develop creative, mutually beneficial solutions.
- Ability and willingness to travel multiple times per month as needed.
- Must live within driving distance of, or be willing to relocate to, the Midwest, Southeast, or US Appalachian regions.
- Bachelor’s degree in natural resource management, environmental science, agriculture, economics, business, or related discipline.
- Experience in agriculture, forestry, farmland investment, or planning is highly valued.
- Existing relationships with landowners or land advisors is an advantage.
- Familiarity with mapping software, GIS data, or remote sensing tools is a plus.
Responsibilities
- Identify and evaluate land parcels using research tools, screening processes, and market knowledge.
- Build relationships with private landowners, land trusts, nonprofits, corporations, government agencies, and tribal nations.
- Conduct outreach, qualify opportunities, and develop a pipeline of potential land partnerships.
- Prepare and present partnership proposals, project materials, and supporting documentation.
- Support due diligence activities and guide negotiations toward successful agreements.
- Lead deal discussions and contribute to closing partnership opportunities.
- Travel as needed to support land engagement activities and partnership development.
- Develop and maintain relationships with land advisors and regional experts.
- Collaborate with forestry, finance, legal, GIS, and commercial teams to develop project solutions.
