Requirements

  • Doctorate degree or advanced practice professional (PhD, PharmD, NP/PA, etc.) relevant to Virology.
  • Minimum 3 years prior experience in the biotech/pharmaceutical or healthcare environment.
  • Minimum 3 years of clinical and/or research experience in Virology/HIV or related therapeutic area.
  • Ability to travel up to 50% of the time overnights.
  • Must reside in the coverage region (FL, AL, GA, KY, NC, SC, TN).
  • Deep therapeutic competency in Virology.
  • Ability to network and partner with external scientific leaders and healthcare providers.
  • Ability to consolidate, analyze, and interpret complex data sets.
  • Knowledge of national treatment guidelines, clinical research processes, and FDA/OIG/HIPAA regulations.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, networking, and presentation skills.
  • Valid driving license.
  • Ability to organize, prioritize, and work effectively in a changing environment.

Responsibilities

  • Identify, establish, and manage collaborative professional relationships with community-based scientific leaders and healthcare providers.
  • Conduct peer-level scientific discussions to ensure a reliable Medical Affairs presence.
  • Engage in proactive non-product discussions to understand prevention gaps, disparities, and barriers to uptake.
  • Facilitate scientific exchange and integrate knowledge with actionable insights to inform company strategies.
  • Communicate external stakeholder insights on clinical trends and the HIV landscape to Medical Affairs HQ.
  • Represent R&D at scientific meetings and congresses and contribute to R&D debriefs and reports.
  • Develop and execute territory plans in alignment with global Virology strategy.
  • Support data generation activities and identify investigators for phase II-IV clinical development programs.
