Requirements
- Minimum 5 years of experience in category management, supplier relations, defense, technical product categories, procurement, or supply chain.
- Bachelor's degree in a related field preferred, or equivalent work/military experience.
- Demonstrated understanding of U.S. Government contracting and federal procurement processes.
- Strong ability to translate supplier capabilities and market trends into growth strategies.
- Analytical orientation to interpret category performance and demand signals.
- Strong communication and presentation skills for internal and external stakeholder discussions.
- Ability to manage multiple category priorities and pursuits.
- Proficiency with CRM (Salesforce) and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook).
- Willingness to travel by vehicle or air for customer or supplier engagements.
Responsibilities
- Develop and execute commodity growth strategies aligned with organizational objectives and customer requirements.
- Serve as the internal commodity subject matter expert for cross-functional teams including Sales and Business Development.
- Translate supplier capabilities and market trends into practical customer solutions and sales enablement tools.
- Support major pursuits, capture efforts, and proposals as the category expert.
- Conduct commodity mapping to identify whitespace, emerging OEMs, and market gaps.
- Evaluate category performance, pricing dynamics, and margin trends to improve profitability.
- Develop internal training content, playbooks, and opportunity briefs.
- Partner with Marketing and Operations to support supplier campaigns and contract execution requirements.
