Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
- 8+ years of experience across data governance, platform engineering, architecture, or analytics engineering.
- 3+ years in a leadership or lead role managing governance programs or stewardship models.
- Hands-on experience configuring Snowflake governance (RBAC, row/column-level security, masking).
- Expertise in operating data catalogs and implementing automated lineage.
- Proven experience writing and maintaining data quality checks within transformation layers.
- Experience governing event contracts and schemas in streaming environments (e.g., Kafka, MuleSoft).
- Experience defining data product governance standards and lifecycle management.
- Experience designing governance controls for AI or agent-based systems.
- Ability to work embedded within engineering teams and implement controls during delivery sprints.
- Strong systems thinking with the ability to translate requirements into engineering patterns.
Responsibilities
- Build and operate the enterprise data catalog, including metadata standards and product documentation.
- Implement automated lineage capture across ingestion and transformation pipelines.
- Write and maintain data quality rules at the pipeline level with remediation workflows.
- Configure Snowflake governance controls, including RBAC, masking policies, and access enforcement.
- Develop self-service access request and approval workflows for domain connections.
- Define and enforce event contract governance in streaming environments.
- Design and implement governance strategies, operating models, and AI/Agent data usage guardrails.
- Build and lead a small governance function over time, managing governance engineers and stewards.
