Requirements
- Native-level proficiency in French as spoken in France.
- Strong foundation in linguistics (phonetics, prosody, intonation).
- Proven experience with data annotation, transcription, or language quality assurance.
- Strong written English proficiency for guidelines, feedback, and reporting.
- Conversational spoken English proficiency for team meetings.
- Ability to write clear, structured instructions and provide actionable feedback.
- Experience managing feedback cycles, QA reviews, and data projects without oversight.
- Proficiency with data and metrics, including audit spreadsheets and inter-rater agreement scores.
- Familiarity with annotation guidelines or rubrics.
- Experience training, mentoring, or managing annotators (preferred).
- Experience with audio evaluation, TTS, or STT (preferred).
Responsibilities
- Serve as the primary point of contact for all French language-specific tasks and quality decisions.
- Answer questions from annotators regarding guidelines, edge cases, and language issues.
- Cascade feedback, instructions, and rubric updates to the annotation team.
- Listen to and audit annotator-rated audio files against project rubrics.
- Prepare written quality assessments and recommendations for annotators.
- Provide ground truth assessments of TTS output, including pronunciation, prosody, and naturalness.
- Update annotation guidelines and develop onboarding materials.
- Run calibration meetings and maintain regular office hours for annotator support.
- Write QA reports and flag quality issues in production audio for the core team.
