Requirements
- 1-4 years of experience in trade compliance, customs brokerage, import/export operations, or logistics.
- Direct experience with BIS license submissions, deemed export licenses, and software classifications.
- Experience with project and program management.
- Associate’s degree, bachelor’s degree, trade compliance certification, or equivalent practical experience.
- Strong understanding of Export Administration Regulations (EAR), deemed exports, Technology Control Plans, and FOCI structured organizations.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite (Excel, PowerPoint) and Jira.
- Strong analytical, research, and communication skills.
- High attention to detail and ability to work collaboratively across legal, engineering, and business teams.
Responsibilities
- Analyze software features to determine EAR or ITAR applicability and assign ECCNs.
- Verify end-use and end-user for commodities and services, addressing potential red flags.
- Assist in determining encryption licensing or notification requirements for the Bureau of Industry and Security (BIS).
- Partner with software development teams to review source code and technical documentation for export restrictions.
- Support the preparation and submission of export license applications and license exception determinations.
- Maintain trade compliance records and conduct internal export audits to ensure regulatory adherence.
- Manage daily operations and coordinate cross-functional activities to keep processes compliant.
