Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in environmental science, sustainability, climate policy, engineering, public administration, higher education, or a closely related field (or equivalent combination of education and experience).
- Demonstrated knowledge of climate action, sustainability, greenhouse gas reduction, resilience planning, or environmental programs.
- Experience collecting, analyzing, and organizing quantitative and qualitative data using spreadsheets or other data management tools.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong project management and organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
- Collaborative mindset for building effective working relationships.
- Access to regular and reliable transportation for regional travel.
- Commitment to a fair workplace and inclusivity.
- Must be 18 years or older.
- Ability to occasionally lift or move objects under 25-50 pounds.
Responsibilities
- Provide technical assistance to California Community Colleges in completing AASHE STARS assessment.
- Assist in implementing statewide climate action priorities under Vision 2030.
- Build collaborative relationships with administrators, faculty, staff, and sustainability leaders.
- Collect, organize, analyze, and summarize sustainability metrics and institutional data.
- Create guidance documents, templates, toolkits, and webinars for campus sustainability efforts.
- Collaborate with the Chancellor's Office Climate Team to facilitate communities of practice.
- Research emerging trends, funding opportunities, and best practices for scaling sustainability.
