Requirements
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related technical discipline.
- 6+ years of professional backend or platform engineering experience.
- Proven track record building and operating internal platforms or shared services.
- Hands-on expertise designing distributed systems with focus on consistency, availability, and latency.
- Advanced proficiency in at least one major backend language (Java, Go, Scala, Rust, or C++).
- Deep understanding of high-throughput messaging and event-driven architectures (Kafka, Pulsar, or NATS).
- Strong working knowledge of relational, key-value, document, and search storage systems.
- Experience leading multi-quarter platform initiatives and managing stakeholders.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills for technical design and documentation.
Responsibilities
- Design, build, and operate foundational platforms and shared services used by other engineering teams.
- Develop platform capabilities including request routing, traffic management, and data fan-out.
- Implement and maintain caching layers and asynchronous job execution systems.
- Ensure durable event processing at high traffic volumes with predictable latency.
- Lead multi-quarter platform initiatives involving cross-team coordination.
- Mentor engineers and improve engineering culture through code and design reviews.
- Author technical design documents and present architectural trade-offs.
