Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in a science-related field (Advanced degree such as PharmD, PhD, or Masters preferred).
- Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in medical publications writing.
- Demonstrated experience managing scientific writing staff and overseeing publication deliverables.
- 1+ year of leadership or supervisory responsibility.
- Deep knowledge of departmental processes, project timeline creation, and resource allocation.
- Excellent medical writing, editorial, and proofreading skills.
- Ability to interpret and present complex scientific data.
- Effective communication, negotiation, and presentation skills for bid defenses and audits.
- Familiarity with publication guidelines (e.g., GPP, ICMJE).
Responsibilities
- Supervise Medical Writers, hold regular meetings, and provide resource planning for project assignments.
- Oversee the preparation, quality, and timeliness of medical writing deliverables.
- Serve as a subject matter expert on study design, adverse event reporting, and statistical analyses.
- Perform senior reviews to ensure adherence to departmental standards and group SOPs/WPDs.
- Assist Business Development in preparing budgets and proposals, and deliver presentations to potential clients.
- Develop and maintain training programs for the medical writing department.
