Requirements
- 8+ years of experience designing, developing, and launching backend systems at scale using Python or Kotlin.
- Extensive track record of developing highly available distributed systems using technologies like AWS, MySQL, Spark, and Kubernetes.
- Experience with a FinOps or cost-visibility platform (e.g., FinOut, CloudHealth, Kubecost).
- Proven experience building automation or tooling to create scalable, self-service systems for cost review.
- Hands-on experience with cloud billing/cost data at scale and writing complex SQL to model spend and allocate costs.
- Experience delivering major features or system components through defined technical and execution plans.
- Ability to thrive in ambiguity and understand architecture from low-level idioms to large-scale systems.
- Demonstrated mastery of gathering and iterating on feedback from cross-functional peers.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills for collaboration with global engineering teams.
Responsibilities
- Set technical strategy for the team on a year-long timescale.
- Collaborate across the product development lifecycle with product management, design, and analytics.
- Act as a force-multiplier by defining and advocating for technical solutions and operational processes.
- Own team operations, including monitoring, triage, and incident response playbooks.
- Foster a culture of quality by setting code review and design standards.
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to team members.
