Requirements
- 7+ years of experience in hands-on software engineering, specifically in backend (Python) or frontend (React, TypeScript, or modern JS frameworks).
- 1+ year of experience in a technical lead, team lead, or hands-on project management role, including mentoring experience.
- Demonstrated ability to design solutions using AI development tools and coding assistants.
- Proven track record of owning project delivery, including breaking down work and driving projects to completion.
- Proficiency with databases, caching strategies, UNIX development tools, and deploying to AWS or cloud infrastructure.
- Strong judgment in reviewing and improving both human and agent-generated code.
- Ability to own people management tasks such as candidate interviewing and career development.
- Experience managing projects cross-functionally and meeting deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Commitment to staying hands-on with the codebase and leading from inside the work.
Responsibilities
- Build a high-performing engineering team through active coaching, mentorship, and career development.
- Maintain a hands-on role by designing solutions, reviewing agent-generated work, and shipping complex features.
- Manage team delivery by setting direction, breaking down ambiguous work, and ensuring projects are completed to quality standards.
- Oversee hiring, performance reviews, and team operations.
- Coordinate cross-team priorities and act as a representative in engineering forums.
- Champion coding standards and best practices for verification and trust in an AI-first environment.
