Requirements
- Minimum 4 years of professional experience in data engineering.
- Proficiency in SQL and Python.
- Strong software engineering fundamentals with the ability to build modular, reusable, and performant code.
- Experience mapping complex business processes into extensible, analytical data models.
- Experience with cloud distributed systems (GCP preferred) including distributed databases, message queues, or batch/stream processing.
- Track record of self-directed execution, owning projects from planning through completion.
- Strong communication skills for collaborating with a distributed team.
- Interest in integrating AI into data engineering workflows.
- Proven ability to implement error handling, idempotency, and orchestration for data reliability.
Responsibilities
- Build and manage business data pipelines and transform Firefox telemetry data into structured, high-quality datasets.
- Partner with data scientists, product, and marketing teams to create models and metrics that drive company decisions.
- Ensure dataset accuracy and performance by using observability tools and participating in a weekly triage rotation.
- Collaborate with data and platform engineers to evolve the data platform.
- Implement and enforce data governance and privacy policies across high-volume data systems.
