Requirements
- Proven track record in building simulation, sensor-modeling, or computational-physics software.
- Strong foundation in physics, applied physics, or electrical engineering (MSc or PhD preferred).
- Deep domain experience in radar, RF signal processing, or electromagnetics.
- Expertise in sensing modalities such as lidar, thermal/infrared, or electro-optical.
- Demonstrated ability to validate models against measured sensor data.
- Professional proficiency in modern C++ within a large, performance-sensitive codebase.
- Ability to define technical direction and deliver on long-term roadmaps.
- Strong communication skills for coordinating with researchers, engineers, and stakeholders.
- Experience with radar signal processing and RF propagation math (linear algebra, radiometry).
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment using Git and CI pipelines.
Responsibilities
- Set the multi-quarter technical roadmap for radar, lidar, and thermal modeling.
- Build physically accurate sensor models, focusing on RF propagation, RCS, Doppler, and multipath.
- Define metrics and methodologies to validate simulated sensor output against measured reality.
- Model complex environmental conditions including weather effects using both heuristics and first-principles physics.
- Set the standard for scientific rigor and validation across the entire sensor suite.
- Translate perception failure modes into concrete, prioritized fidelity requirements.
- Provide technical direction and mentorship to the engineering team.
- Utilize AI tooling for coding and literature reviews to accelerate development.
