Requirements
- 6–8+ years of data engineering experience with hands-on ownership of production systems.
- Strong pipeline design and orchestration skills in a production environment.
- Advanced SQL expertise in complex transformations, performance tuning, and debugging against cloud data lakes or warehouses.
- Strong Python development skills including production-grade code, scripting, testing, and debugging.
- Working knowledge of infrastructure-as-code for provisioning and managing cloud resources.
- Familiarity with AWS data infrastructure including S3 and IAM.
- Experience inheriting and improving systems developed by others.
- Clear written communication skills for documentation and process recommendations.
- Experience using AI-assisted development tools like Claude Code, Cursor, or Copilot.
Responsibilities
- Design and build pipelines for data ingestion, transformation, compliance, and cross-domain data flows.
- Manage pipeline operations end-to-end, including monitoring, incident resolution, and maintaining data quality.
- Develop working knowledge of existing infrastructure by mapping data flows, dependencies, and performance characteristics.
- Improve documentation, observability, and operational standards across data systems.
- Provision and manage infrastructure using Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) practices.
- Collaborate across team boundaries with engineering and product stakeholders to address data needs.
