  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to explain detailed account information clearly and professionally.
  • Ability to build rapport with patients while handling sensitive financial conversations with empathy and discretion.
  • Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to research issues and identify appropriate solutions.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail when managing account documentation and patient information.
  • Ability to work effectively with technology systems, including customer management platforms and telephone systems.
  • Comfortable working independently while meeting productivity and quality expectations in a remote environment.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and follow healthcare privacy regulations and compliance policies.
  • Willingness to participate in ongoing training and adapt to changing procedures and requirements.
  • Ability to work the required schedule, including one late shift per week from 10:30 AM to 7:00 PM CST.

Responsibilities

  • Communicate with patients regarding outstanding medical accounts, repayment options, and available resolution pathways.
  • Provide professional customer service by addressing questions, researching account details, and resolving account-related concerns.
  • Contact patients through phone, email, chat, text, and other approved communication channels to obtain payments or establish appropriate payment arrangements.
  • Review and update patient demographic and financial information accurately during account interactions.
  • Negotiate payment arrangements while following established guidelines and client requirements.
  • Perform account research, document findings, and route accounts through appropriate workflows.
  • Maintain accurate records of all patient contacts, account activity, and resolutions in accordance with company and regulatory standards.
  • Ensure all interactions comply with applicable healthcare privacy, consumer protection, and collection regulations, including HIPAA and FDCPA requirements.
  • Meet performance objectives related to productivity, quality, account resolutions, and customer experience.
  • Participate in training sessions and continuously develop knowledge of policies, procedures, and industry requirements.
