Requirements
- 8+ years of experience in data engineering, backend engineering, or a hybrid role.
- Strong hands-on experience with AWS, including Glue, Lambda, Step Functions, S3, Athena, and Redshift.
- Strong programming skills in Java for microservices and Python for data pipelines.
- Experience building batch data pipelines and ETL systems at scale.
- Experience with containerized services and orchestration via Amazon ECS.
- Experience designing or working within microservices architectures.
- Familiarity with event-driven systems such as SQS and EventBridge.
- Strong SQL skills and experience optimizing analytical queries.
- Experience with distributed processing frameworks like Spark via Glue.
- Deep understanding of data modeling, partitioning, and performance tuning.
Responsibilities
- Design, build, and own batch-oriented data pipelines and ETL workflows using AWS Glue, Lambda, and Step Functions.
- Develop and optimize ingestion pipelines using AWS-native services like AppFlow and DMS.
- Build and maintain analytical data models using Amazon Athena, Redshift, and ClickHouse.
- Integrate data workflows with backend microservices running on Amazon ECS.
- Contribute to event-driven architectures using Amazon EventBridge.
- Ensure data quality, lineage, and observability through monitoring and alerting.
- Implement Infrastructure as Code and CI/CD best practices for data services.
- Mentor engineers and contribute to technical strategy.
